You chose the house for the view. Window film lets you enjoy it all day, even in the late-afternoon sun.
Nobody on Signal Mountain or Lookout Mountain wants heavy curtains over their best windows. The view is the point, whether that’s the Tennessee River Gorge from the brow of Walden Ridge or the city and valley spread out below Lookout. Those big panes of glass are also why the living room feels like a greenhouse by late afternoon, the TV washes out, and the rug by the window has faded.
Solar Sentinel is a locally owned window film company serving Signal Mountain, Lookout Mountain and the communities at their feet, including Red Bank and Lookout Valley. We’ve been in business for over 10 years, and our installers bring 25+ years of combined installation experience. We carry a full line of both XPEL and LLumar residential and commercial films, so we can match the film to the glass and the view instead of selling one product for every window.

Mountain homes get sun differently. On the brow, there’s often nothing between your windows and the open sky to block the low afternoon sun, and view windows that face south or west take the most heat and glare.
Our residential window tinting uses XPEL nano-ceramic film that rejects up to 93% of infrared heat and blocks 99% of UV rays. XPEL residential films are designed to keep outward visibility and come in shades from barely noticeable to lightly tinted. For a lot of view homes, the right film is one guests never notice.
What mountain homeowners usually notice first:
Winter matters up here, too. Signal Mountain and Lookout Mountain sit well above the valley floor and tend to run cooler, and both mountains have plenty of older homes with older windows. Film adds a thermal barrier at the glass that slows heat loss and reduces the chill you feel sitting next to a big window in January.
Every residential install carries a lifetime warranty, and most whole-home jobs are done in a single day.

On Signal Mountain, the shops, offices and restaurants along Taft Highway serve a close-knit town. At the foot of the mountain, Red Bank’s Dayton Boulevard corridor is lined with offices and storefronts, and the City of Red Bank trusted Solar Sentinel with commercial window film on Red Bank City Hall. Down in Lookout Valley and Tiftonia, hotels, restaurants and other businesses line the I-24 interchanges at Browns Ferry Road and Cummings Highway.
Our commercial window tinting helps all of them:
We install from inside whenever possible and work around your hours.
We cover the Town of Signal Mountain and neighboring Walden along Walden Ridge, whether you come up the W Road or Signal Mountain Boulevard. At the foot of Signal Mountain, we serve Red Bank, including the homes and businesses along Dayton Boulevard. On Lookout Mountain, we serve the Town of Lookout Mountain, from the neighborhoods near Point Park to homes along the brow. A: Not unless you want it to. XPEL residential films range from barely noticeable to lightly tinted, and they’re built to keep outward visibility. We’ll bring samples to your home so you can hold them up to your actual view before choosing.
A: Often, yes. Film is applied to the inside of your existing glass, so there’s no window replacement. In older homes, it helps in both seasons: it blocks solar heat in summer and slows heat loss through the glass in winter. We’ll look at your windows during the consultation and recommend the right film for them.
A: It makes a big difference. Film cuts glare dramatically without blinds, so you keep the light and the view.
